CUCUMBERS

95% water. No calories. No cholesterol. Mild diuretic (cleanses toxins and waste from the body). A number of vitamins and minerals.

Used For:

- skin treatments (sunburn, puffy eyes, insect bites)- counteracting constipation

How To Administer:

- Skin Treatments - sunburn:

3 cucumbers

3 oz. plain yogurt

1 tsp. vinegar

Wash, peel and grate cucumbers. Mix them in yogurt and vinegar; chill. Spread the paste on affected areas, leaving it on until its cooling action stops.

- Skin Treatments - conditioning:

2 unpeeled, non-waxed cucumbers

1 pint whipping cream

1 tbsp. olive oil

1 tbsp. honey

1 tsp. cornstarch

1 lemon

(This was Cleopatra's skin-conditioning recipe.) Wash the cucumbers, and place them in a blender. Add up to 1 pint of whipping cream to make a smooth, thick paste. Blend in the olive oil, honey and cornstarch; chill. Slice the lemon in half, and rub both halves over your face. Apply the cucumber paste, and lie down. Wash the paste off after 1 hr.

- Internal Cleansing:

1 lb. cucumbers

1 C buttermilk or yogurt

Dill or lemon juice to taste.

Wash, peel, seed and puree the pulp of the cucumbers in a blender. Blend in the buttermilk or yogurt, and flavor with the dill or lemon juice. Drink 1 cup daily
