Natural Massage Oils
We live in stressful times, and it is almost impossible to avoid stress on some level on a daily basis. Our bodies do not weather such consistent stress very well. The presence of so much disease and illness is a sure sign. Among a myriad of methods to reduce stress, a therapeutic massage, with a True Therapeutic Grade massage oil, cannot be matched.
We know that essential oils are distilled from plants, have powerful healing properties, and are used by massage therapists, used in aromotherapy, and even used in cooking.
As consumers become more health-conscious and savvy, the demand for authentic and effective health products is increasing. True Therapeutic massage oils are no exception. Inferior oils are used merely for fragrances or perfumes. True Therapeutic essential oils are immune-system stimulating, anti-viral, anti-infectious, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, antiseptic, anti-tumoral and even anti-fungal.
Know your essential oils. Learn how they are produced.
The production of true essential oils is a fine art. Find out if they have been purity-tested through gas chromotography, have been properly steam distilled (using stainless steel implements and vats), and that they have not been instilled with any synthetic additives. At best, synthetic oils may not produce desired therapeutic results--at worst, they could possibly be toxic. Make sure they are certified organic, free of pesticides and chemical residues.
We are sensitive, at times fragile creatures. We play hard, and we play easy. We enjoy four-wheeling in the dunes, and we love to soak in a warm aromatic bath. If it is this 'soft' environment you desire at the moment, especially after a rough ride in the desert, find the calming, or stimulating, effect of essential massage oils a treat for the senses!
A natural massage oil can penetrate the skin and underlying tissue to add depth to the massage session and enhance the experience, especially in the use of essential oils. Rosemary essential oil improves blood flow and circulation; geranium oil relaxes the body and mind, easing pain and tension.
When making your massage oils, use a base oil appropriate for your skin type:
Dry skin:
1 oz. sesame oil
1/2 oz. jojoba oil
1/2 oz. almond oil
Oily skin:
1-1/2 oz. grapeseed oil
1/2 oz. jojoba oil
Then add your desired essential oils. Always store oils in a cool, dark place - for up to 6 months ONLY, as natural plant oils keep only for a limited time. Always use an opaque glass bottle with tight cap.
