Apis (latin word for Honeybee)

A remedy chosen by Homeopaths to treat beestings, and many acute conditions resembling those of beestings; conditions accompanied by reddening, swelling, burning, itching and sensitivity of the affected area to heat. It can be a remedy for rashes, hives, poison ivy, conjunctivitis, sties, and sore throats - all identified by redness, puffiness and feeling 'raw.'

Apis is made from bee venom. It contains 'histamime,' a chemical that the human body releases in response to an allergic reaction. The venom also contains enzymes and other substances that help to flush out and heal inflamed tissues.
